Faculty from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) in the Dual Degree Program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with our College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science visit from December 17th to 18th, 2024. The delegation includes three distinguished guests: Associate Dean for Research of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, Professor Andrew Graettinger; Chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Professor Jang Jaejin; and Professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Professor Gyo Daekwan.
Visit Itinerary on the afternoon of December 17th, from 4:00 PM, a visit to the Intelligent Computing and Big Data facility at the Innovation Pilot Center for Theory in Practice will be hosted. The visit will be led by the program director, Professor Yu-Ping Liao, and Professor Yen-Jui Chang. During the visit, they will introduce the newly established program in 2022, which encompasses three distinctive fields: AI (Artificial Intelligence), BD (Big Data), and QC (Quantum Computing).
In addition, the visiting faculty and staff from UWM also toured our Quantum Information Center and engaged in an exchange session with the class taught by Professor Camille Hu, an expert in the program’s data domain. Professor Hu presented a demonstration of AI virtual human technology, showcasing a virtual human video feature created using a photo of UWM’s Academic Vice Dean during the UWM faculty visit. This allowed the guests to interact with their own AI virtual human, which impressed them greatly with the advanced AI virtual human application technology developed by our faculty and students.
